Through the many layers of information and meaning, transparency and opacity, Sally Hirst’s distinctive work reminds the viewer of places, of moments in time where narratives are formed in an experiential and gestural manner. Sally has shown her paintings and original prints in exhibitions for over 25 years, more recently in Spain. In addition to Europe she has work in collections in the US, Australia and Canada. Whilst based in the UK she spends many months each year in Andalucia where she has a studio and the peace and quiet to work uninterrupted. Originally from London she studied for her BA at APU and postgraduate at Cambridge University. She is currently working towards her Master degree in Fine Art.
